WHAT IS MOLD?
Mold is part of the natural environment. Molds are fungi and are needed to break down dead material and recycle nutrients in the environment. Molds grow by digesting organic material and gradually destroy whatever they grow on.
Not only is mold damaging to your home or commercial building, but mold has also been linked to several health issues in both humans and animals. Luckily, most all mold contaminations are correctable.
CAN MOLD CAUSE HEALTH PROBLEMS?
Mold can affect everyone differently and symptoms may range in severity. People who are sensitive to mycotoxins can experience:
- runny nose
- skin rashes
- flu-like symptoms
- irritation of the eyes
- nose or throat
People at a higher risk for adverse reactions to mold exposure are:
- Immune Compromised Individuals
- Pregnant Women
- Individuals with existing Respiratory Issues
